Jim's Biography

Education: AA Land Surveying Science Technology from Southeast Technical College

Registration: Professional Land Surveyor - South Dakota, Minnesota & Iowa

The wide range of projects to work on is what Jim likes about working at Sayre Associates. Jim is very knowledgeable about land surveying having been in the field for more than 30 years. He performs numerous surveys including ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, boundary surveys, subdivision plats, and preparing legal descriptions. He is thorough, accurate, and a good communicator. In his free time, Jim enjoys working on vehicles and cheering for the 49ers with his family.

Gene's Biography

Registration: Professional Land Surveyor - South Dakota

Gene has a remarkable ability to remember details like legal descriptions, addresses, and project numbers - even those from 20 years ago! His good memory, experience and commitment to accuracy are beneficial for a successful project. He performs legal boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, private and public right-of-way plats and easements, subdivision layouts, grading, horizontal and vertical control for aerial photography, and construction staking. In his free time, Gene enjoys playing volleyball, hiking, golfing, and traveling.

Eric's Biography

Education: BS Mathematics from University of South Dakota; AAS Civil Engineering Technology & AAS Land Surveying Technology from Southeast Technical College

Registration: Professional Land Surveyor - South Dakota

It all started with math - Eric had a passion for numbers since high school and developed that skill through college. After college, he briefly sold insurance and real estate, which led him to discover the wide world of land surveying. Surveying allows Eric to utilize his love of math, technology, and problem solving, all while enjoying outdoor work. He has provided construction inspection on a variety of city and regional projects and surveying assistance. Outside of work, he enjoys catching a baseball game, golfing, and staying active.

Perry's Biography

Education: BS Commercial Economics from South Dakota State University

Registration: Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT)

Perry is the best field designer, as decided in a vote among ourselves. He has the ability to fine-tune and make adjustments in the field to unforeseen circumstances. Perry is responsible for topographic surveying and construction staking for numerous projects in the region. His attention to detail provides additional quality control and assures an excellent finished product for any construction project. In his free time, Perry enjoys gardening, working in the yard, baking, and traveling.

Derek's Biography

Education: AAS Civil Engineering Technology & AAS Land Surveying Technology from Southeast Technical College

Registration: Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT)

Derek enjoys being active and outdoors so his job as a survey technician is a good fit for him. He provides technical support assistance for the engineers and assistance on multiple survey crews. His responsibilities include topographic surveying, construction staking, mortgage surveys, and ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys. Derek is dependable and hardworking, and has extensive knowledge of the survey equipment. When not working, he enjoys camping, boating out on the Missouri River, riding bike, and hanging out with friends and family.
