Jeff Boldt, P.E.
Principal, Professional Engineer
Joined Sayre Team: September 1983
Jeff holds the distinction of serving in almost every capacity in the office. He started as a rod man on the survey crew, moved on to drafting and then computer drafting while he earned his degree, and now provides consulting engineering services. His unique career path provided him an extensive background and knowledge in all aspects of the survey and design fields. His proven abilities in site design and street construction ensure a successful design project. In his free time, he enjoys country cruising in the side by side, fixing most anything, woodworking, building, and remodeling.
Doug Hoy, P.E.
Principal, Professional Engineer
Joined Sayre Team: August 1994
Doug has decades of hands-on experience in the construction and rock excavation industry. He performs pre-existing condition surveys, vibration monitoring, crack monitoring, remote monitoring, as well as design services and construction administration. From a resident’s kitchen to corporate board rooms, Doug excels at communicating and resolving issues with individuals at all levels of the project. He is an active member of the International and Black Hills Chapter of ISEE, and a member of SD Engineering Society. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, camping, backpacking, and being outdoors.

Thad Roberts, P.E.
Principal, Professional Engineer

When driving around town, Thad admits the first thing he notices is the grading and drainage of a site, and it was a major factor in the house he purchased. He is detail-oriented and has experience working on drainage issues. He provides consulting services related to site design, street design, land development, hydrology and storm water systems and watershed planning studies. His designs offer clients a practical and constructible solution to meet their needs. He enjoys photographing wildlife, watching hockey, archery, and being outdoors in his spare time.
Paul Korn, P.E.
Principal, Professional Engineer

Paul jokes he always wanted to be an engineer growing up, and was surprised when he didn’t get to operate a train after graduation, and so began his career in civil engineering. He worked for the SDDOT after graduation and credits those eight years with largely shaping his engineering experience today. He gained a lot of valuable construction experience that he continues to rely on as a design engineer. He has extensive experience with transportation infrastructure design, site design, residential subdivisions, industrial developments and athletic facilities. His detail-oriented approach creates quality outcomes for any project. In his free time, Paul enjoys golfing, supporting activities of his children, and cheering for the Packers and Royals.
Scott Schneider, P.E.
Principal, Professional Engineer

Scott is described as extremely thorough, dependable and hard working. He provides construction administration services for sites, streets, bridge rehabilitation, rural and urban highways, water distribution systems, and wastewater collection systems. His attention to detail allows him to identify and correct potential on-site problems before they become costly construction errors. With his knowledge of construction practices and regulations, Scott will ensure quality methods are employed and specifications are met. Scott enjoys being outdoors, hunting and fishing in his free time.
Eugene Maurice, PLS
Principal, Professional Land Surveyor

Gene has a remarkable ability to remember details like legal descriptions, addresses, and project numbers - even those from 20 years ago! His good memory, experience and commitment to accuracy are beneficial for a successful project. He performs legal boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, private and public right-of-way plats and easements, subdivision layouts, grading, horizontal and vertical control for aerial photography, and construction staking. In his free time, Gene enjoys playing volleyball, hiking, golfing, and traveling.
Jim Cordell, PLS
Professional Land Surveyor

The wide range of projects to work on is what Jim likes about working at Sayre Associates. Jim is very knowledgeable about land surveying having been in the field for more than 30 years. He performs numerous surveys including ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, boundary surveys, subdivision plats, and preparing legal descriptions. He is thorough, accurate, and a good communicator. In his free time, Jim enjoys working on vehicles and cheering for the 49ers with his family.
Zach Kiesow, P.E.
Professional Engineer

Zach stays active in both his personal and professional life. At Sayre Associates, he has the unique ability to work on a project from design to construction. His experience in site design and many years of construction administration provides valuable insight for clients. In his free time, he stays active by playing soccer, running, mountain biking, and chasing after his wife and two kids.
Adam Slowey, P.E.

Adam grew up knowing about civil engineers and wanted to be one from a young age. His father is a civil engineer and he comes from a family of underground utility contractors, so engineering was a natural fit for him. After working professionally with his father, he brought his talents and expertise to Sayre Associates. He has been involved with residential, commercial and industrial development projects and site design, roadway construction and reconstruction projects, and drainage structure analysis and rehabilitation projects. He enjoys playing soccer and hiking in his spare time.
Cole Gebhart, P.E.

Cole is a team player who supports the company and has fun doing it. You can count on him to assist with random office tasks, participate in company competitions (which he usually wins!), and provide assistance at job sites with a moment's notice. He is a "doer" who lives in a world of action, bringing his enthusiasm and flexibility to every project. He provides valuable assistance in a variety of duties, including assisting with design, construction administration, and plan preparation. He is committed to providing high quality service to every project. He enjoys fishing, playing soccer, snowboarding, and wakeboarding in his free time.
Branson Tolliver, P.E.

Branson's attention to detail and adaptability are reflected in his hobbies of hunting and golfing, and also utilized in his daily work responsibilities. He provides engineering design assistance throughout the project, including assisting with design, construction administration, and plan preparation. He has experience on many public and private projects throughout Sioux Falls and the surrounding area. His grasp of the details and problem-solving skills ensure plans are accurately created and constructed. In his free time, Branson also enjoys cooking, learning about the outdoors, sports and gardening.
Trace Villbrandt, E.I.T.

Trace is known for his patience, humor, and willingness to learn. His father is a civil engineer and Trace knew in high school it was what he wanted to do too. He enjoys working on a variety of projects and likes that each day is different. He has experience in project administration, site design, drafting, and hydraulics. His willingness to engage in various types of projects makes him a valuable member of our team. Trace's hobbies and interests include golfing, basketball, riding his motorcycle, playing guitar, watching SDSU sports, reading, and finance.
Tanner Odegaard, P.E.

Tanner worked in the construction industry for two years before pursuing a degree in civil engineering from South Dakota State University (SDSU). Tanner assists in the design and plan development capacities on various public and private projects. Clients and coworkers find Tanner to be very knowledgeable and personable. He enjoys cheering on the Denver Broncos and SDSU Jackrabbits, golfing, playing sand volleyball, and spending time with family, including 17 nieces and nephews.
Mitchell Healy, E.I.T.

Mitch Healy was an engineering intern with Sayre Associates before joining our firm full-time in May 2023 after graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering from South Dakota State University. He assists with design projects and construction observation and inspection. In his free time, Mitch enjoys grilling, fishing, hunting, and watching sports.
